I pack late, forget small things, and end up buying them again on the road. So I built a tiny tool that creates a clear packing list from a short trip brief.
This is my build-in-public launch of Travel Checklist: https://pack.ryderlab.work/en
What it does
- Turn a few trip details into a structured packing list
- Add context-aware risk tips so you do not miss the important edge cases
- Save your list locally, no login required
Who it is for
- Short trips where you want a fast, reliable list
- People who hate overthinking the basics
- Anyone who wants a checklist they can actually finish
How it is built (quickly)
- Next.js App Router + Tailwind for a fast, simple UI
- Form schema with react-hook-form + zod for safe inputs
- LLM-backed generation when configured, with a rules-based fallback so it still works offline
- i18n-ready with next-intl
Why I am shipping it now
I want a tool that is useful on day one, even if it is not perfect yet. I would rather learn from real trips than guess in a doc.
If you try it, tell me what you forgot to pack. That is the best feedback I can get.
